A unique and short-lived Central Ohio spot is shuttering.

According to a statement posted to its Facebook page, ATX Auctions announced that it plans to permanently close. The store is located at 1685 Taylor Rd. in Gahanna.

An ATX Auctions Columbus staff member told 614Now that, while the brand’s last Columbus auction was held on June 17, the store will remain open “until all items are sold,” which they estimate will be the end of July. The store will close for good after this.

A national brand, ATX Auctions serves as a discount store and auction house offering overstocked goods, return merchandise, and inventory liquidation for closing businesses.

According to the ATX staff member, the concept’s first auction closed on June 22 of last year, meaning the store’s tenure lasted just over a year. ATX operates more than 30 other locations across 9 states, which will remain open.
