After seven years, Downtown Grove City business announces closure

As they reach their seven year anniversary, a local candle-making experience announces their last day in business. The Chandler, a pour your own candle shop located at 4048 Broadway in Grove City, plans to close their doors on August 22nd, 2026.

In a recent social media post on their Instagram @thechandlercandle, The Chandler shared:

“Today we announce our farewell. A closing of a long chapter filled with excitement and adventure. We opened our doors on August 22, 2019. We will close on August 22, 2026. Thank you Grove City for 7 incredible years.”

Hosting workshops, a perfume masterclass, and custom candle experiences, The Chandler offered over 85 fragrances to customers. The shop was also known for its “ReLight” candle vessel program, where donated jars were cleaned and reused at a reduced price.

“Through 7 incredible years, we’ve celebrated birthdays, engagements, and friendships,” their social media post added. “We’ve watched kids come back year after year, growing a little taller each time. We’ve watched first dates become anniversaries, and dreams become a reality.”

Additionally, The Chandler is known as the only LGBT+ business owned and operated in Grove City’s Historic Town Center. Per Visit Grove City’s website, “In June 2020, The Chandler located at 4048 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio, made local history by flying a Pride flag outside its storefront for Pride Month.”

As The Chandler closes operations in the coming days, we will see what the journey holds for their current storefront and The Chandler brand. Stay tuned for more updates!
