A Central Ohio city council approved 104 acres to transform into a sprawling new residential development in addition to 800 acres of a mix-use development.

“The development of this property will complement the ongoing commercial investment at Buckstone,” said Angela Kirk, mayor of Obetz. “By encouraging high-quality residential growth alongside our expanding business districts, we’re creating a more vibrant and sustainable community for current and future residents.”

The new development in Obetz, called Buckstone, will include 143 acres of commercial space, plus hundreds more acres of 700 new single-family homes, a public park, walking paths, waterfront access to Big Walnut Creek, and a community pool.

Residential homes weren’t initially planned to be part of the development when it was introduced a couple of years ago.
