Attempted murder suspect leads police on wild chase through Ohio golf course
How a joyride on the fairway ended with a flipped cruiser and a suspect in custody.
A police chase broke out on July 7 after the Stow Police Department was alerted that an Attempted Murder suspect had entered the area. The suspect was wanted in Canton in connection with an attempted murder investigation, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to Stow PD, a pursuit ensued until the suspect was involved in a crash and fled the scene while firing shots at an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.

Immediately, Stow Officers responded to an alert in search of the suspect, who carjacked a minivan, resulting in another pursuit. The suspect led the chase onto the grounds of Fox Den Golf Course.
Instagram user highlandthrowbacks captured part of the chase on the green, shocking golfers. Fortunately, no bystanders were injured.
The pursuit ended when the suspect collided with a Summit County Metro Parks cruiser, flipping it onto its roof. The suspect attempted to escape the scene again but was quickly taken into custody by Stow Officers.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is taking the lead on the continuing investigation.
