Car crashes into beloved German Village restaurant

“Dear Columbus, we love having you here…but we’d really prefer you use the front door.”

On July 12, a German Village restaurant faced an unwanted, yet common, Columbus fate. 

“Last night, South Village Grille officially joined a club we never wanted to be part of. If you’re from Columbus, you probably already know the one,” the restaurant posted on Facebook.

The side of the building at 197 Thurman Ave. was struck by a car from the intersection of Thurman Ave. and Jaeger St.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the damage appears to be minimal. The Grille will be closed for lunch service today as the staff evaluates the damage and determines next steps.
