Central Ohio entertainment hub to close after 45 years in business
After 45 years in business, Magic Mountain Fun Center East will close their doors on July 5. Located at 5890 Scarborough Blvd., the amusement center has entertained generations of Central Ohio kids. The company announced the closure via social media.
The post said, “After decades of creating unforgettable memories for families throughout Central Ohio, Magic Mountain Fun Center East has announced that it will permanently close its doors following its final day of operation on Sunday, July 5, 2026.” The location first opened in 1981, and became known as a birthday party hub—offering mini golf, go-kart races, and arcade games.

In the closing statement, owner Hank Woodburn said, “It has truly been a privilege to bring fun, laughter, and lifelong memories to so many families throughout the years. We are incredibly grateful to the guests, employees, schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations that have supported us over the years. From birthday parties and family outings to our annual Easter Egg Hunts on the mini golf course and countless community events, we’ve cherished every opportunity to give back and be part of so many special moments. While we are saddened to say goodbye, we will always be thankful for the memories we’ve created together.” The statement said, “Magic Mountain Fun Center East extends its sincere appreciation to the Columbus community for its support and loyalty throughout the years.”
While there are other Magic Mountain Fun Center locations, this is the only one in Ohio. The company is encouraging guests to visit the park before July 5 to enjoy their favorite attractions one last time and to redeem any outstanding arcade tokens and tickets, Groupons, gift certificates, promotional certificates, or other unused offers.
