Video: Cedar Point coaster gets stuck, leaving suspended riders staring at the ground

Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster is making headlines after getting stuck twice in two days. Video captured at the parks shows the Siren’s Curse rollercoaster getting stuck over the weekend, leaving passengers looking straight down.

According to a statement from the amusement park, the coaster experienced two separate technical delays on Saturday and Sunday that caused the ride to stop operating temporarily. The stops were compared to a car’s check engine light, and the statement said, “Its safety system performed as designed, keeping all guests safe.” No injuries were reported.

The roller coaster stopped right before the big drop both times it got stuck. After the workers completed a system check, the ride resumed. Siren’s Curse opened at Cedar Point last summer. The ride is the first tilt coaster in North America. The coaster stands 160 feet tall and has a 90-degree drop and two inversions along the track.
