The Columbus Division of Fire commemorated the unique save on social media. The post said “Thanks to the quick actions of firefighters, everyone made it out safely, and we mean everyone. In addition to the residents, crews helped bring out a full lineup of family pets: dogs, a cat, a snake… and the most unexpected rescue of the day, an iguana. It’s not every call where you go from grabbing leashes to carefully escorting reptiles, but our firefighters are ready for just about anything.Today’s call could have ended very differently but we’re grateful this one concluded safely for every member of the household, whether they walk on two legs, four legs, slither, or bask under a heat lamp. Protecting life means all life.”
