Columbus Library post poking fun of McDonalds CEO goes viral

Jack McLaughlin

In case you didn’t already, the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) is actually one of the most-followed public libraries on social media, ranking fourth nationally with more than 300,000 followers.

And after a recent post made by CML, it’s not necessarily hard to see why this is the case.

“10K likes and we get our CEO to eat a hardcover book like it’s a hamburger,” an X post made by the Library on March 5 reads.

In case you missed it, the post is lambasting a recently-released video from McDonalds that depicts the burger giant’s CEO taking a minuscule bite—and talking unconvincingly about the merits—of its new Big Arch Burger.

The post currently has more than 1.6 million views and nearly 60,000 likes.

It’s not the first time the Library has gone viral for a Tweet, either. It also probably won’t be the last.
