Columbus Police release video in double murder investigation making national headlines
UPDATE: Columbus police have arrested Michael McKee and charged him with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of the Tepes, according to court records.
Officers say Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39, were killed on Dec. 30 sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. in the upstairs of their Weinland Park residence on North Fourth Street while their two children, reportedly ages 1 and 4, were at home.
They have not made any arrests.
The newly-released video shows someone police are calling a “person of interest” walking in an alley near the couple’s home during that time. Detectives are not calling this person a suspect. The video is grainy, and the individual’s face is concealed, but police hope someone might be able to tell who this person is.

As of Tuesday morning, police had not released any information about suspects or motives.
The investigation began after Spencer’s concerned coworker told police Spencer did not show up for work. Spencer worked as a dentist in Athens. Another coworker showed up at the house and reported hearing children crying.
Police said they arrived at the home for a welfare check at 10:04 a.m. Both victims were pronounced dead seven minutes later at 10:11 a.m. Police have said there were no obvious signs of forced entry. They also have said they don’t believe the incident was a murder-suicide.
Homicide detectives have asked anyone with video, photographs or digital evidence to upload it on the Columbus Police website.
Numerous national news media including all major TV networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and FOX), New York Post and People magazine have covered this Columbus tragedy, sharing a wedding video taken at their home. The two were killed one month shy of their five-year wedding anniversary.
