Columbus ranked in top 10 best places for Gen X to live in US by ‘Travel + Leisure’

Real estate experts have spoken, deciding that Columbus is a peak place to settle for the self-sufficient, “latchkey generation.”

Columbus ranked No. 2 in Travel + Leisure’s list of 10 best places for Gen X to live in the U.S., citing the city’s affordability—with cost of living at 7 percent below the national average—relatively stable economy and job market, and the plethora of activities and public spaces to enjoy around the city.

“What we’re seeing isn’t Gen X chasing the hottest headline market. They’re choosing stability,” Hoby Hanna IV, CEO of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, who recommended Columbus, said in the article. “There’s renewed interest in markets built on fundamentals rather than momentum.”

Columbus was edged out by Boulder, Colorado, for top spot. Other recommended cities included Pittsburgh, Detroit, San Diego, and Denver. Check out the full list here
