Decades-old High St. apartment building could be demolished for new mixed-use development
Summer’s heat or winter’s cold, the seasons pass the years will roll, time and change will surely show, how firm thy…mixed-use developments are in OH-IO.
A developer has submitted plans to demolish the apartment complex at 2060 N. High St. to make way for a 7-story, mixed-use building. The Ohio Stater Apartments have been around for almost 40 years, sitting right across the street from OSU’s campus since 1988.

The plans show 9,000 square feet of retail space, plus 270 apartment units and an underground parking garage. A 100+ year-old apartment building at 47 E. Frambes is part of the proposed redevelopment site, which would have to be demolished as well.
Ohio State’s campus has seen a resurgence of redevelopment lately, with a focus on off-campus housing with coffee shops, restaurants, and markets on the first floors of the buildings.
