Viral video of person throwing brick at dog prompts local investigation
A dog seen in a disturbing viral video circulating online this week has been removed from a Columbus-area home and is receiving veterinary care, according to Columbus Humane.
The organization confirmed Thursday that its Humane Law Investigations team is actively investigating the case after a video appeared to show an individual throwing a brick at a dog.

“We are deeply saddened by the treatment shown in the viral video circulating online this week, showing an individual throwing a brick at a dog,” Columbus Humane said in a statement.
The organization said the dog has since been removed from the residence and has received veterinary care.
“Every animal deserves to be treated with care, compassion, and respect, and to live a life free from cruelty,” the statement reads.
Because the investigation is ongoing, Columbus Humane said it cannot release additional details at this time.
The agency is asking anyone who witnessed animal cruelty or neglect – or who has new information related to the case – to contact its Humane Law Investigations dispatch line at 614-777-7387, ext. 250.
“We understand our community’s concern and share the heartbreak that many are feeling,” Columbus Humane said. “Protecting animals from cruelty and advocating for their wellbeing is at the heart of our mission.”
614NOW has chosen not to reshare the video due to its disturbing nature, but the clip has spread widely across social media, prompting calls for authorities to intervene and check on the dog’s welfare.
Columbus Humane said it appreciates the community’s patience as investigators work to ensure “a thorough investigation and the best possible outcome for this animal.”
