Hilliard business of nearly a decade sold to new owners

A boutique offering shoes and clothing located in the heart of Downtown Hilliard has found new owners—Urban Market has sold. Previous owner Lauren McKinniss–who purchased the business in 2020, after it originally opened in 2017—sold the business due to both personal and professional reasons. The new owners announced the change via social media. 

The post said, “As one door closes, another door opens. After six wonderful years of building a business that has become a community favorite, Lauren has made the decision to pass the torch. We are honored and excited to continue the legacy she created at Urban Market. Friends for more than 30 years, Juli Willbarger and Lynn Johnson are thrilled to begin this new chapter together.

Juli is the owner of New Grounds Coffee House, with locations in Hilliard, West Jefferson, and Plain City. She is well known for her passion for serving others and her unwavering commitment to supporting the communities she calls home. Lynn is a small business owner who enjoys helping fellow entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations grow and succeed. Many of you may recognize her from behind The Crazy Cucumber booth at local farmers markets, where she shares her popular pickles with the community.

Our goal is simple: to preserve everything you already love about Urban Market while adding a few fresh ideas and creative touches of our own. We look forward to getting to know you, hearing your ideas, and continuing to make Urban Market a welcoming place to shop, gather, and support local.
