Find out where Ohio ranks on a list of the nation’s most and least fit states

While Ohioans will beat you on a football field, and is a national hub for the automatics and aerospace industries, the Buckeye State also has its fair share of weaknesses.

According to a new study from healthcare staffing platform Nursa, fitness is one of them.

The Nursa study ranked Ohio 35th nationally, with a cumulative score of 6.58 out of 10. For context, the country’s most fit state, Vermont, notched an 8.97 out of 10, and the least fit state, Louisiana, has a score of 4.25 out of 10.

Each state’s score was calculated by assessing a variety of factors, including number of gyms per 100,000 residents, number of walking trails, fast food spots per 100,000 residents, the diet habits and alcohol consumption of residents and more.
