Fire breaks out in Clintonville during heatwave

A fire broke out at a home in Clintonville yesterday, June 30, on East North Broadway. The Columbus Division of Fire confirmed via Facebook that there were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

They said, “Shortly after 11 a.m., Columbus Fire crews responded to a house fire on East North Broadway in the Clintonville area. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire scenes are always dangerous environments, and with today’s heat index reaching triple digits, conditions are even more hazardous for firefighters and the community. Columbus Fire reminds everyone to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors when possible, and use caution while in the heat.” The road was closed while crews responded, and smoke was spotted from blocks away. 

The homeowner confirmed via Facebook that everyone got out safely. They said, “I am the owner of the house that caught fire today. Thank you to everyone commenting with well wishes. No one was injured thankfully, and the firefighters got our dogs out quickly and they are safe as well. We are trying to work through logistics and what we can save. We are very thankful for our community, the firefighters and that we are all safe.”
