Reynoldsburg man pleads guilty to attempted murder after shooting at cops from inside Quality Inn room
A Central Ohio man wanted in a Franklin County murder case has pleaded guilty after firing at law enforcement during a standoff at a Springfield hotel last year.
35 year old Andre Jordan II of Reynoldsburg, Ohio has pleaded guilty to attempted murder of federal officers in connection to the Aug. 14, 2025 standoff. At the time of the hotel incident, he was a fugitive with an active arrest warrant for aggravated murder in Franklin County.

According to court documents, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team tracked Jordan to a Quality Inn in Springfield, Ohio as part of an ongoing investigation. When officers announced their presence outside his hotel room, Jordan looked out the window before firing a shot toward the area where law enforcement had been positioned, forcing officers to take cover.
Authorities say Jordan then fired another round through the hotel room door into a hallway where officers had been moments earlier. Several people were inside the room at the time, including three young children and two adults. Surveillance footage shows them leaving before Jordan fired multiple additional rounds through a connecting door toward an adjacent room, in the direction officers had previously been located.
A SWAT team responded to the scene, and negotiators worked for several hours to communicate with Jordan during the standoff. He ultimately surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody.
Jordan was federally charged later that month. As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors are recommending a 25-year prison sentence.
