Here’s how likely Ohio residents are to be abducted by aliens, according to new study

Jack McLaughlin

A new study chronicled the percentage that residents of every state have to be abducted by aliens, and here’s where Ohioans landed.

The Alien Abduction Odds Index of 2026, which was compiled by Canada Sports Betting, attempted to determine the implied odds of alien abduction for residents of each US state and Canadian province.

According to the index, Ohioans have a 1.13 percent chance of being abducted, or 1 in 89 implied odds, which is good for 21st in the country. These are calculated by mapping where abduction-related events are reported each year.

“The odds are low everywhere. But the takeaway is simple: these reports don’t appear everywhere — they appear somewhere,” the study reads.

The state with the highest implied odds of being abducted? That’s New Hampshire, according to the Index, at 2 percent, or 1 in 50.
