International retailer opening first Ohio location

An upscale women’s apparel brand is bringing its first standalone Ohio location to Tanger Outlets Columbus. Wacoal is set to open soon in suite 230 at the outlet center, located at 400 S. Wilson Rd. in Sunbury.

The Japan-founded retailer specializes in women’s intimate apparel, including bras, underwear, and shapewear. The upcoming store will mark the brand’s first standalone location in the state.

Wacoal is taking over a 2,035-square-foot space next to American Eagle. While the brand has only a small number of standalone stores in the U.S., you can find Wacoal products sold at department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom.

Founded in 1946, Wacoal expanded into the U.S. in the 1980s, with its first standalone American store opening in New Jersey in 2018. The brand is joining a shopping powerhouse, Tanger Outlets currently carries more than 80 brands.
