It happened again: Driver stops on I-71 in Columbus, causes multi-vehicle crash

At this point, we may need to introduce a new item to Ohio driver license exams:

“Should you, in any instance, come to a complete stop on the interstate?”

The answer is no. In a video released yesterday by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), someone has done it again, stopping on I-71 at the 5th Avenue exit, and causing a crash involving multiple vehicles.

“I-71 at 5th Ave. must have something in the air. Another driver made the wrong decision. Do not do this if you miss your exit. Just go to the next one and flip around. Additionally, turn your headlights on,” an ODOT Facebook post reads.

You can watch the video below.

According to ODOT, the driver fled the scene after the crash. Columbus Police are currently investigating the incident.
