Local man wins lottery with ticket sold at Central Ohio pizzeria

Sometimes, eating a great pizza feels like winning the lottery.

But for a local Delaware County man, he literally hit the jackpot.

According to The Ohio Lottery, the man went out for dinner at OH Pizza & Prime and decided to bet on himself, playing the EZPLAY Progressive Jackpot game called Lucky 5’s. With only a $5 wager, he won 25% of the jackpot, totaling $80,515.

He had to match 15 “5” symbols to win this jackpot. After mandatory 26.7% taxes, he’ll receive $58,977.24, according to The Ohio Lottery.

OH Pizza & Prime is located at 618 State Route 61 in Marengo, about 30 minutes North of Columbus proper. Employees said they were ecstatic for this man, as he’s a regular customer who was just as shocked as they were when he won.
