A Central Ohio restaurant and bar is rolling with the punches and remains open for business after being hit hard recently. By a car.

According to West Church Social owner Matt Maynard, a vehicle drove “through” the garage door of the Newark restaurant and bar at 4 a.m. on Sept. 18.

Maynard told 614Now the individual was looking for their cell phone.

“Yeah, it was a crazy night for sure. It’s mind-boggling that someone would choose to run into a glass garage door to gain entry just to look for a cell phone that wasn’t even there,” he said.

Despite the incident, West Church Social not only remained opened that night, it only hosted an event with live music.

“A little busted glass isn’t stopping the party. West Church Social is open and ready for a great Friday night,” the restaurant and bar posted.

West Church Social is located 1650 W. Church St. in Newark, and the Licking County hotspot is hosting bands throughout the weekend, with shows from Rock This Way on Friday and Appalachian Outlaws on Saturday.
