Located at 1570 Rohr Road in Lockbourne, the park is opening five additional event spaces for indoor and outdoor gatherings. According to Metro Parks’ Visitor Engagement Manager Jill Snyder, the site’s expansion and parking could allow for festivals with 10,000 attendees.
The new slide is located on the former site of the Hoover YMCA Park “Granddaddy Slide”. The 100-foot-long attraction has a 25-foot descent. The slide is currently only available for use during park programming or private events. In addition to the slide, there’s a new Grand Shelter that can accommodate 300 guests. The existing Flagstone Shelter was updated as part of the event center overhaul. The park’s shelter space features charcoal grills, picnic tables, outlets, restrooms, an open air stage, and parking. The park is also developing a water attraction area with paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing options to be unveiled later this summer.
