Ohio Congressman accused of pouring hot water on ex-wife and posting ‘possible child sexual abuse material’

There’s been a lot of public scrutiny of Rep. Max Miller, the Republican Ohio Congressman, this election cycle.

According to POLITICO, new reporting on government documents claims that Miller poured hot water on his ex-wife, Emily Moreno (if that last name looks familiar, she’s the daughter of Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno), held a gun to her head, and broke their young daughter’s collarbone. Moreno also accused him of disseminating their daughter’s name and one image that “could be considered Child Sexual Abuse Material.”

Miller is denying any wrongdoing.

His lawyer is taking full responsibility for the “private images” of his daughter, which were posted on his X account. “I am solely responsible for what happened,” said Aaron Minc, Miller’s attorney. “I was the person responsible for assembling, creating, reviewing, adding, deleting, redacting, or making any changes to the information and files that were in this folder,” he said.

Here’s what supposedly happened: Miller posted a Dropbox folder of documents on his X account after delivering a livestreamed defense against the claims of Moreno. Some of the documents, Moreno’s lawyer claims, left the daughter’s name unredacted, and contained “private images,” including one where “the daughter’s genitals appear to be visible.” POLITICO obtained this in a letter to Minc.

The post/picture garnered 204,000 views.

Minc disputed that the pictures included genitals. “A two-year-old girl had her shirt off. That is deliberately false, sensationalized, and disgusting characterization,” he told POLITICO.

Senator Bernie Moreno has since denounced his former son-in-law. “I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake,” he posted on X.

The House Ethics Committee has announced it’s opening an investigation into Miller.
