Ohio farm market employee fired following ‘deeply offensive and racist’ social media post

An employee has been fired from an Ohio farm market for allegedly posting racist material to Facebook.

On July 12, the Blooms & Berries Farm Market & Garden Center released a statement to its social media pages regarding the incident. 

“We were made aware this morning of a deeply offensive and racist comment made by a (now prior) Blooms & Berries part time, seasonal employee on a public Facebook post.The comment was abhorrent, inexcusable, and in complete opposition to everything our family and out farm stand for,” the statement reads. “The person is no longer employed at Blooms & Berries Farm Market. Effective immediately.”

Screenshots of the alleged incident, now circulating on social media, show a post from an account sharing a name with the fired Blooms & Berries employee that include a racist slur. The post was replying to a news story about the shooting death of a Cincinnati teenager.

Blooms & Berries Farm Market is located at 9669 OH-48 in Loveland, approximately an hour and a half from Columbus.
