On Friday evening at 9:40 P.M., police and firefighters reported to the scene of the sinkhole where a car had been partially swallowed. The city confirmed that the sinkhole, located on the 1500 block of North Howard Street, was caused by a water main break.

The city sewer crews shut off the water main for repairs in two places following the incident. There were reportedly two cars that hit the sinkhole, the first was able to bounce out. Three people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and repairs to the road are ongoing.
