According to North America’s 50 Best Restaurants, one Ohio eatery is “putting new Midwestern dining on the map,” and it’s grabbing some significant hardware on its way as well.

Wildweed, the Cincinnati eatery that focuses on “creative, pasta-centric plates” was named the winner of the publication’s One to Watch 2026 Award.

North America’s 50 Best Restaurants uses their One to Watch Award as a way to signal up-and-coming hotspots to the national restaurant scene.

“This Cincinnati restaurant opened in July 2024 in an often-overlooked dining scene. Referred to by some as a flyover state, a place brushed over in favour of more well-trodden coastal destinations in the US, Ohio is part of a New Midwestern cuisine boom, and is now home to the winner of the One To Watch Award 2026,” North America’s 50 Best Restaurants wrote.

Wildweed, which is owned by chef David Jackman and Lydia Jackson, is located at 1301 Walnut St. in Cincinnati’s Over the Rhine neighborhood.
