Pastrami in the sky: Ohio’s first-ever sandwich drone delivery to take place

If you are in the Dayton area and see a flying sandwich, don’t worry it’s not a hungry hallucination; it’s just history being made.

On June 4th, autonomous technology company Dexa is teaming up with Dayton’s All the Best Delicatessen to make a monumental delivery. Together, they will deliver Ohio’s first-ever pastrami sandwich by drone. 

The event will take place at the New York-inspired deli at 5940 Far Hills Ave. in Dayton, historically known as home to the first successful airplane, the Wright Flyer.

If only the Wright brothers could see us now. The drone is set to take off at 11 a.m. to officially introduce the Ohio food scene to the magic of autonomous aircraft delivery. The flight will be documented and supported by both parties as a significant moment in tech to highlight the future of collaborative innovation in autonomous delivery.

“We are honored to be chosen by Dexa to deliver Ohio’s first pastrami sandwich by drone. It’s an exciting way to show that old traditions and new innovation can work hand in hand,” All the Best Delicatessen owner Lee Schear said in a press release. 

So if you’re hungry for an Italian pastrami sandwich, keep an eye on the sky and one may end up in your lap sooner than you think.
