High Street grocery store reopens after shooting in parking lot

A 36-year-old woman has been charged after a shooting outside of a High Street Kroger on Sunday morning that left one man hospitalized.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers responded to the Kroger located in the 1300 block of N. High St. at approximately 11:31 a.m. on June 7 after reports of an active shooter. Investigators determined the shooting occurred in the store’s parking lot and not inside the grocery store.

Police said an adult woman was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained from a fall. A second victim, an adult man, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 2600 block of McKinley Avenue, where he had driven after the shooting. He was transported to a hospital and is expected to recover.

The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Teanya Swanson. Police said Swanson shot the man and was later arrested and charged with felonious assault.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the shooting. Kroger confirmed to 614Now that the N. High Street store reopened.
