Local food truck temporarily closes after ‘extensive damage’ from storms

As the south side of Columbus continues to recover from last week’s storms, one local food truck may take some heavy lifting to get back to business. 

Ondarunn Grill, a soul food-focused food truck located at 2046 Lockeborne Rd., unfortunately faced the EF1 tornado on August 11, dead on. The force of the storm flipped the entire setup—the truck itself and the trailer—leaving the owner, Anthony Williams, completely devastated. 

“After everything that happened with the storm, we have some cleaning, repairs, and rebuilding to take care of before we can get back up and running. It’s definitely a lot to take in, but we’re taking it one day at a time,” Williams wrote in a social post.

Forced to practically start from the beginning, Williams set up a GoFundMe for community members to support and hopefully speed up the recovery process.

Ondarunn Grill began operating from the Lockeborne location in 2022, and its fall-off-the-bone ribs and deep-fried fish have gathered a large following over the years.
