Lane Avenue apparel store set for demolition, massive rebuild

A destination for Buckeye fans on Ohio State game day could soon get a major makeover.

614NOW reviewed plans filed with the City of Columbus which call for the demolition of the existing Rally House at 316 W. Lane Ave. and the construction of a new two-story store on the site.

According to city planning documents, the proposal would demolish the existing two-story building, complete site improvements and construct a new two-story Rally House. The application is currently listed as under review as a preliminary site plan.

The building has long been a destination for Buckeye fans. For decades, 316 W. Lane Ave. was home to Conrad’s College Gifts, one of the original family-owned Ohio State apparel stores, before Rally House took over the location in 2023. 

The proposal is scheduled to be reviewed by the city’s Development Commission during a July 15 meeting at 10 a.m. If approved, the project would move another step through the city’s development process.
