Three-alarm fire tears through Dublin apartments; Cause revealed
Investigators have determined the cause of the fire that drew numerous first responders to a Dublin apartment complex over the weekend to be accidental, according to the Washington Township Fire Department.
The flames began just after 1 p.m. Sunday at the Asherton of Dublin apartments, located off Asherton Boulevard, and escalated into a three-alarm fire that drew a regional response.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames ripping through the building.

Multiple agencies – including Dublin Police, Columbus Police, Washington Township Fire Department and several surrounding fire departments (including Marysville Fire Division) – responded with engines, ladder trucks and even drones.
Nobody was hurt (and everyone’s pets were accounted for, as well), but the damage was significant. At least 16 units were destroyed, forcing families from their homes. A top trending comment on Reddit was: “THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE RENTER’S INSURANCE.”
Investigators determined the fire was accidental, but the Washington Township Fire Department is still asking residents for photos or videos taken before crews arrived, hoping to better understand what happened.
