Truck hauling 40,000 pounds of Frank’s RedHot spills across Central Ohio highway
“Well… that puts a whole new meaning on ‘I put that sh*t on everything,'” one social media commenter wrote.
Firefighters responding to reports of a semi leaking an unknown substance got a much spicier surprise than they expected.
On June 30, crews with the BSTG Fire District (which serves the areas of Berkshire, Sunbury, Trenton, and Galena in Central Ohio) were dispatched to I-71 in Delaware County after receiving reports of a tractor-trailer leaking “something.” The driver pulled off the highway and into a nearby truck stop, where firefighters prepared for what could have been a hazardous materials incident.
They found the trailer was carrying roughly 40,000 pounds of Frank’s RedHot – and it was pouring out the back.

Photos shared by the department show bright red hot sauce streaming across the pavement.
“This is one of those careers where you never know what you’re going to encounter,” the fire district wrote on Facebook.
The unusual call quickly caught attention online. One commenter joked, “I was worried it was hydraulic fluid or something slick. If I knew it was Frank’s I would’ve grabbed a bucket!!”
Others weren’t laughing.
One person posted on the “What’s Up in Delaware, OH” Facebook page that she had spent $30 on car washes and the sticky red sauce was still on her vehicle.
