A Central Ohio glassware brand has landed a feature in the New York Times (NYT).

In a Feb. 10 travel feature from the publication that featured destinations for “design tourism” like Milan and New York City, Gay Fad Studios from Lancaster, Ohio was shown some national love.

If you’re not familiar with the brand (you can learn more about them by checking out their feature in the Fall 2025 issue of Stock & Barrel here), new owners Jason and David Annecy relaunched Gay Fad in 2022, more than 50 years after it originally shuttered. The studio was–and is now once again–known for the creation of quality mid-century modern glassware.

The NYT story also focused on the upcoming Gay Fad event, Bottoms Up Midcentury Barware Show, which will be held this year from June 18-21.

“Unlike other comprehensive design shows, this one zeros in on a specific angle: midcentury cocktail culture, including tumblers, shakers, highball glasses and bar carts. Much of the event takes place across Lancaster’s downtown, as it did last year, when attendance neared 18,000,” The New York Times story reads.
