Ohio man dead after tree falls during severe weather

Severe weather can turn dangerous within seconds, and after Sunday, one Zanesville family is now mourning.

A 20-year-old man, Kieler Roush, died on August 16 after being discovered trapped underneath storm debris.

According to Zanesville police, a tree fell due to high winds on Ridge Avenue near West Main Street. First responders discovered Roush trapped, and medics from Community Ambulance and the Zanesville Fire Department pronounced Roush dead at the scene.

Roush was walking home to welcome his older brother home from the Army before the tragedy, according to his mother on Facebook.

Sunday’s severe storms follows an unusual bout of weather according to The National Weather Service, seeing a pattern of high winds, and dangerous flooding.
