Local vintage shop opens first storefront Downtown Columbus
What started as a high school hobby transformed into a full-fledged business.
Founder Parker Gantt has been selling clothes for roughly two and a half years and came up with Luminary Vintage his senior year, starting on the reseller app Depop. Gantt’s vintage pieces gained attraction quickly; after nearly 800 sales on the app, it was time to expand.
Gantt partnered with Reece Schuman, and the two began attending pop-up events in May 2025, selling vintage streetwear and growing their customer base. A year later, the two opened Luminary’s first brick-and-mortar store.

Located at 20 S. Front St., Luminary Vintage opened its first storefront on May 23 and has dedicated their business to taking care of the customer. All pieces are handpicked, examined, and washed before they hit the racks.
“We are very strong in our Company culture and values. Luminary is something or someone that guides others in a particular field. Our field is vintage. We hope to make others shine through our shirts, hoping it gives them a boost of confidence or a bit more pep in their step,” said Gantt.
While the two remain busy with Luminary’s storefront, they still manage to host a vendor booth at monthly pop-up events and vintage markets.
