Rein in the Desert: Top riders battle it out in the Southwest in the newest issue of ‘Reiner’
We’ve had plenty of rain here in Central Ohio during the month of May, and there was plenty of reining in Scottsdale recently as well.
The Cactus Classic took place from March 13-21 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, and the newest issue of Reiner has full coverage of the event, including a conversation with Level 3-4 Open Derby champion Erik Caddeo, who rode Thee Assassin (Local Talent x One Uttama).
The new issue also includes a feature on the prominence of Italian reiners in America, coverage of The Run for a Million qualifier and a section dedicated to the 2026 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Pros of the Year.
In the May issue of Reiner, look out for a deep dive into the winningest lineages behind the NRHA Derby in the recurring series, Bloodlines, as well as a discussion with NRHA trainers on how to train and prepare for big shows.
