Here’s why Michigan super-fan Dave Portnoy thinks OSU should be banned from the Big Ten

Dave Portnoy is a man of strong opinions. He’s built his career on them, through both Barstool Sports, and later his YouTube series One Bite Pizza Reviews, and now the diehard Michigan fan thinks the Buckeyes should be banned from the Big Ten Conference?

Why, you ask? Because they held Senior Night during their opening game last week, when they beat Ball State 56-3.

“It was even more surreal, idiotic, and dumb to see Nipple Ring [OSU head coach Ryan Day] do Senior Day on the opening game of the season,” he said on a recent Barstool Sports segment.

In a Sept. 7 post to his X account that included a clip of his diatribe, Michigan super-fan Portnoy wrote, “Ohio State should be kicked out of the conference for having Senior Day in week 1.”

Typically, college senior days are held at or near the end of the regular season, honoring senior players and their families. In an unusual move, Ohio State moved their Senior Day to the beginning of the season in order to remove any late-season distractions,  Ohio State’s Senior Day was originally slated for the team’s Nov. 28 matchup with Michigan.

“You’re such a bad coach, you can’t do Senior Day before your last game because you can’t get your team to focus on Michigan? Ridiculous!” Barstool Sports host Brandon Walker added on the show.

It sounds like there won’t be any love lost between the Ohio State and Michigan fanbases when they meet later this year to round out the regular season.
