Giant Idaho potato coming on tour to Ohio soon

Something really big is coming to Ohio this summer. Really big, like 4-tons. The Big Idaho® Potato Truck is scheduled to make an appearance in Dublin, Ohio this summer as part of the annual Dublin Irish Festival.

If you’re not familiar, The Big Idaho® Potato Truck is a 4-ton replica of a Russet potato that tours the country promoting the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association certified Idaho® potato and its mission to help small charities in towns and cities with its A Big Helping program. If the spud were real, it would take 7,000 years to grow, yield 20,217 servings of mashed potatoes, weigh as much as 21,562 regular potatoes, and produce 1,000,000 french fries.

The potato started as a one-year campaign to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission—people loved it too much and the potato is now on its 13th cross-country trip. You’ll be able to see this massive wonder in Ohio from July 31-August 2 at the annual Dublin Irish Festival. Keep your eyes peeled, you might catch this spud on the road.
