70-year-old restaurant chain closing Whitehall location soon

Family-owned eatery MCL Restaurant & Bakery is shutting the doors to its Whitehall location at 5240 E. Main St. on March 29, according to social media. 

Their Upper Arlington location, located at 3154 Kingsdale Center, will remain open.

The restaurant commented on their Facebook page, “Kingsdale will still service the Columbus area. We hate to close Whitehall but unfortunately the sales were not where they need to be to cover operating cost.”

The cafeteria-style restaurant has been serving entrees and desserts from family recipes since 1950, according to their website, with locations across Ohio and Indiana.
