Hair pulled, punches thrown: OSU, Michigan fans brawl on ferry

The Buckeyes and Wolverines are scheduled for battle November 28th in Ann Arbor, but some fans just can’t wait for the action.

Port Clinton (Ohio) Police arrested a pair of Michigan fans for starting a physical altercation with a pair of Ohio State fans. The trouble went down at around 1:45am on the top deck of the Jet Express as it was approaching the dock. Ashley Artiaga and Ian Schuster (Michigan fans) were having a verbal back and forth with another couple (Ohio State fans). Voices were raised as the argument got heated. At some point, Ashley (Michigan fan) rose from her seat and pulled the hair of the female Ohio State fan. This woman’s husband stood up to defend his wife and pushed Ashley back. Ashley’s husband got up and the two men began trading punches.

Police were called and arrested the Michigan fans once the boat was docked. Artiaga and Schuster were charged with assault. Both have since been released but are due back in court soon.  (jj)
