White Castle beats McDonald’s to the punch with all-day breakfast
Earlier this week, McDonald’s made the announcement that, starting October 6th, they would begin offering select breakfast items to customers all day long. This came as welcome news to Egg McMuffin fans who can never seem to make it to the drive-thru before 10:30am.
But Columbus-based White Castle is pulling a fast (food) one and beating Ronald McDonald to the punch. WC will begin serving their full breakfast menu to customers around the clock beginning September 10th…almost a full month sooner than their golden arched competition. Fast food breakfast is a loyalty thing and if White Castle thinks that they can get a four week jump on the competition, they needed to make the move.
White Castle has long been planning to switch their breakfast menu to an all-day option for customers. The announcement from McDonald’s likely just moved up their timetable. (jj)
