Crowdfunding Spotlight: Cravings Carryout Cafe

Generally, this is someone who has ideas and goals for a product or service, but needs a bit of a boost. These folks turn to crowdfunding and we help to get the word out.

This week, we look at Cravings Carryout Cafe.

About three week ago, the folks at Cravings shared word that they were in trouble. They had received notice that their landlord would not be renewing their lease. If they wanted to remain in business, they would have to move…and fast. After almost 4 years at the same location, Sunday marked their final day of operations on East Third Avenue.

Cravings hasn’t settled on a new location just yet, but they are close. In the meantime, they are being confronted with some large and unexpected costs, many of which they’ll have little time to cover. They’ll need to move all of their restaurant equipment out of the East Third Avenue address and return the property to its original condition. They’ll have to put all of their items in storage until the new place is ready. And then they’ll have to do set up in that spot.

Faced with these expenses, Cravings is turning to friends and fans in the community for help through Kickstarter.  (jj)
