Thursday morning a man was shot in west Columbus after attempting to stop a robbery at the house he was watching, according to investigators. The man, William David Keen, 49, had been doing work on the house and investigators believe he went outside when he heard a noise. According to the Dispatch, several neighbors heard gunshots and one heard a woman scream. The garage door was ajar and looked as if someone had attempted to open it, the report said. Keen’s body was found on Oxley Road near the house by a man coming home from work. Police said they are treating the case as a burglary gone wrong.
