The next time you travel through Port Columbus, in addition to other items that you can’t have in your checked bag, make sure that you’re not carrying an e-cig.
The Department of Transportation this week issued a new rule banning e-cigarettes, e-cigars and all other portable battery-powered nicotine devices. The DOT has been looking at the issue in response to more than two dozen reported explosions and fires connected to such devices in recent years.
The new ban will be instituted within the next couple of weeks.
Travelers will still be able to have their e-cigs and such in their carry-on bags, but cannot vape or charge the devices during flight. (jj)
