Columbus…more likely to survive or fall during a zombie apocalypse?

shutterstock_142859218A zombie apocalypse. We know that one is likely just around the bend, right? Right? Well…in the event that one does come, we’d probably like to know our chances of survival. Should we all strut around in front of the zombies, confident in our ability to outpace them in a road race? Or should we make sure that we wear motorcycle helmets at all times to better protect our brains?

The folks at Career Builder have examined this pressing issue and come up with lists of the cities most and least likely to survive a zombie apocalypse. For the criteria, eight factors in four categories were considered: ability to defend against the virus, ability to contain the virus, ability to find a cure and ability to outlast the epidemic with an ample food supply. With the nation’s 53 largest cities being measured, here’s how we fared:

The 10 Metros Most Likely to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse

  1. Boston, Massachusetts
  2. Salt Lake City, Utah
  3. Columbus, Ohio
  4. Baltimore, Maryland
  5. Virginia Beach, Virginia
  6. Seattle, Washington
  7. San Diego, California
  8. Kansas City, Missouri
  9. Denver, Colorado
  10. Indianapolis, Indiana

Not bad, not bad. The 3rd most likely city to survive a zombie apocalypse.

The city’s least likely to survive? Chicago (IL), San Bernadino (CA), Los Angeles (CA), Tampa (FL) and New York (NY).  (jj)
