See where Ohio ranked in new study of country’s most fun states
According to a new study from WalletHub, Ohio is among the country’s 15 most fun states.
WalletHub, a finance website, created the ranking in order to find “the states offering the greatest variety and most cost-effective options for enjoyment.”
While The Buckeye State didn’t crack the top 10, it was close, coming in at number 13 with an overall score of 41.81. In comparison, the country’s most fun state, California, tallied an overall score of 64.56.

To calculate this number, WalletHub considered a total of 26 metrics, including everything from restaurants and movie theaters per capita to the accessibility of national parks.
Here’s how The Buckeye State fared in several key categories:
14th – Restaurants per Capita
11th – Movie Theaters per Capita
8th – Golf Courses & Country Clubs per Capita
21st – Amusement Parks per Capita
24th – Performing-Arts Theaters per Capita
13th – Fitness Centers per Capita
28th – Casinos per Capita
22nd – Variety of Arts, Entertainment & Recreation Establishments
