Iconic Ohio pizza concept opening new location in former home of Icarus Sandwich Shop
DiCarlo’s Pizza is making moves in Italian Village.
The popular Steubenville-born pizzeria, known for its square cut pies that add cheese only after leaving the oven, is preparing to open a new location in a well-known Italian Village storefront.
According to third-generation owner David DiCarlo, the new DiCarlo’s Pizza will be located at 15 E. 2nd Ave., in the former home of Icarus Sandwich Shop and Laughlin Bakery. According to David DiCarlo, the move will give DiCarlo’s a needed boost in space, will provide more parking and will move the business closure to High Street for greater exposure, DiCarlo told 614Now.

Icarus, the sandwich venture launched by the owners of Fox in the Snow, closed earlier this year.
DiCarlo has not yet announced when the new location will open, although the concept’s current Italian Village storefront, which is located at 91 E. Fifth Ave., will continue to serve Ohio Valley pies in the meantime.
“We will still be open downtown while we are making the move,” DiCarlo said.
