Analysts find path for Ohio State to make College Football Playoffs
Michigan State. Ugh.
The Spartans’ win over Ohio State killed the Buckeyes’ chances of repeating as National Champs. Or did it?
The short answer…probably.
But then again, maybe not.
ESPN analysts today laid out a path that could see the Buckeyes sneak into the playoff picture. Is it likely? Absolutely not. But neither is losing your starting quarterback, your backup quarterback and then having your third-string guy lead you to a conference title, a bowl win and a national title. And yet that happened.
Without a conference championship under their belt this season, Ohio State has the biggest of marks against them, but if they can somehow demonstrate or have others demonstrate, that the Buckeyes, despite the absence of a conference title, are one of the absolute 4 best teams anyway, then they can leap ahead of others. To me, it sounds like the sports equivalent of jury nullification.
