City Council rules for more regulations for Uber, Lyft

Uber and Lyft took a hit at the Columbus City Council meeting Monday night. (Not that anyone didn’t see it coming, considering the city is already suing both companies.) The city council’s ruling requires app-based driving services to operate under more strict obligations, which is more than the previous no obligations Uber had since late winter, according to NBC4. Drivers will be required to have a bureau of criminal investigation background check, proof that they own the car or a note from the owner allowing it, $1 million in insurance and a letter of good standing.
